The baby bluebirds live their first 2-1/2 weeks crammed together in these tiny cup shaped nests. When they are mature enough to fly there is nowhere near enough room, but even before, sometimes I have to move a bird or two to find out how many are in ther. Below is a baby groundhog who was watching Abner and me from a spot in which he thought he was concealed.
Above babies are probably only about 2-3 days old. They have fuzz but little else. . .nothing that looks like a feather yet and eyes are closed. Below are some of the Canada Geese on the French Broad River with their new family. Seems like a huge number of baby geese were born and survived this year.
